A Little Goodbye

If I wasn't 38 weeks pregnant and having irregular contractions, I'd probably be making my way up to Nor Cal right about now.

When I was pregnant with Bear, one of my hopes was that she would get to meet her great great grandma (or "big big ma ma" as she called her)...I just thought, "how neat would it be for all five generations to be together in one room...how precious it would be." So they met, and although Bear probably won't remember...and her great great grandma wasn't even sure who we all were...it was still a sweet moment where we could capture the 5 generations in a photo op.

About an hour ago I heard the news that my kun halmoni passed away. I wish I could be there to say goodbye...Instead this will have to do.

5 Generations

We'll miss you kun halmoni and "big big ma ma."

Goodbye Little Geo...

I have to put up a post to say goodbye to an old friend. Some of you remember I used to drive a Geo Prism. This was my car the moment that I turned 16 and it faithfully carried me around during my high school years and my college years. Now I haven't actually driven the car in about 6 years, but it still has a special place in my heart.

A couple of weeks ago, it had a little accident. The driver is fine, but the Geo, being about 12 years old, just didn't make it.

So, goodbye little Geo. We know you weren't the sturdiest of cars, but you had great mileage and you managed to carry me from San Diego to LA dozens of times. Your paint was chipping and your insides were being held together with duct tape, but you were a good car until the end. May you be recycled well.

Life is Short...

We received some sad news in the Lee household today. Our baby's great-uncle passed away last night suddenly. Although I haven't spent an extended amount of time with him (he's my husband's uncle, and I've only had the privilege of spending 2 holidays with him), I feel a great sense of loss. I have this empathetic personality where nobody cries alone. Even if people around me aren't crying, if I sense their grief, I will cry for them. My husband doesn't cry, but I feel his pain, and I guess I served as his physical expression of grief today.

So, Uncle A, I'm sorry that I didn't get to spend more time with you, and I'm sorry that our baby never got to meet you, but I hope that you've found your way home into the arms of our Lord and Savior. We thank God for the life He gave you.
